16 days of Activism & Gender Based Violence
In this episode of TWiGH, in recognition of the 16 Days of Activism to end violence against women, the panel discusses gender based violence (GBV) against women and highlights interventions to end GBV. 16 days of advocacy runs between Nov 25, the International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women and Dec 10, International Human Rights Day. The panel outlined differences between GBV and violence against women as well as described briefly various innovative interventions being used worldwide to combat violence against women. Points of discussion include: GBV and conflict, use of theatre and art to combat violence against women, new law in Brazil against femicide, and highlighting various organizations and campaigns for eliminating GBV.
